Dana Statham
Dana Statham is a self-taught artist from the Comox Valley. She is grateful to currently live on lək̓ʷəŋən territory in Victoria, BC, Canada. Using bold, intentional brushstrokes of acrylic paint, she captures the spirit of coastal British Columbia with a vibrancy that is rooted in her admiration for the landscape. Growing up on Vancouver Island provided abundant inspiration when it comes to her creative process. Many of her pieces resonate with a warm gulf island feel that can be attributed to a lifetime connection to Hornby Island. Coastal shorelines, arbutus trees, and underwater kelp gardens are common themes in her work. Dana’s work has been featured in galleries and shops on Vancouver Island and Hornby Island, in both group and solo art shows. She has also victoriously competed in live painting competitions in Vancouver.
