Studio 106 is an Art Gallery in Victoria and gift shop, located in the historic Seaman’s Institute Building in James Bay, near Fisherman’s Wharf. We feature Canadian artists and artisans that are inspired by nature.
Our belief is that art should be for everyone! In our gallery we exhibit and sell original paintings and sculptures, as well as prints and art cards. In our gift shop you will find locally sourced handcrafted gift ware, unique jewellery and one of a kind gifts.

Spirit of Adventure is the theme of the 2025 Victoria Classic Boat Festival. The boat is loosely based on Joshua Slocum’s Spray. Slocum, a Canadian-American seaman and author, is famous for being the first person to sail single-handedly around the world, doing so in an old oyster sloop, Spray.
The boat depicted is Joshua, an accurate replica of Joshua Slocum’s Spray. It was built and is owned by William ‘Bill’ Harpster, Commodore of 2025 Victoria Classic Boat Festival. Richard Linzey was asked to paint Joshua for use in the festival poster and merchandise.
The pennant is an artistic invention but is loosely based on a c19 commodore’s pendant which the artist thought a subtle reference to the owner’s role as Commodore of the festival. ⛵️

The Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls movement, represented by the red dress, brings awareness to the issues of violence towards Indigenous women and girls.
