Andi Hoffmann

Hi, I’m Andi, the hands behind Hoff the Grid Goods. I am a queer artist (she/they) making nature-inspired ceramics with gratitude on unceded Lekwungen territory, in so-called James Bay, from my little basement studio located just a few blocks from Studio 106! I am a one human small business and every piece you purchase started from a ball of clay. I also create and hand carve every design and I make my own glazes. This means each piece is unique and made with a whole lot of love, time, and care . I took my first pottery class in 2013 with another Vancouver Island based potter and fell in love with the unlimited potential of clay and the very messy creative process that comes with it. After lots of drop-in community studio time, I branched out on my own in April 2019 and have been working out of my small studio in Victoria, BC ever since. Before I decided to pursue ceramics full time, I studied Biology, Environmental Science, and Conservation at school. It was through these programs while living on the west coast, that I developed an immense passion for protecting all the amazing wildlife and habitats in the coastal temperate rainforest here in BC, and the communities that so heavily depend on their protection. I am working to connect my love of nature with my love of art and activism through my designs and hope that they inspire you to care for all creatures and ecosystems too!
